Refund Policy

Adopt-A-Pencil is instituting a donation refund policy to ensure fair and transparent processing of requests for refund of donations as digital payments are becoming more frequent. Adopt-A-Pencil expects that all donors will exercise due care and diligence while making donations. Adopt-A-Pencil also recognizes that a donation may be made erroneously or donors may change their minds.

Adopt-A-Pencil will examine each request for a refund of donation and endeavor to make the refund. Adopt- A- Pencil may also seek further information/documents and the donor must co-operate in this regard.

However, Adopt-A-Pencil is not obliged to make refunds and may, at its discretion, decline any requests for a refund of donations, particularly if a tax exemption certificate has been issued (Tax Exemption Certificate will be issued to the donor in 7 business days from the date of donating).

If you would like your donation to Adopt- A- Pencil to be refunded, You must request Adopt- A- Pencil in writing or by email at iadoptapencil@gmail.com for a refund and Your request must reach Adopt- A- Pencil within 7 (seven) days from the date on which you donated i.e. the date on which you:

  • Donated online, electronically, or through other means, OR

  • Handed over the cheque/demand draft to Adopt- A- Pencil or someone authorized by Adopt- A- Pencil for this purpose, OR

  • Despatched the cheque/demand draft to Adopt-A-- Pencil by other means.

The written request stating the reason for requesting a refund must be sent to the address stated below and must contain all the following details about the donation:

  • Date of donation

  • Donation amount

  • If the donation was made through cheque/draft, please provide Cheque/Draft no. with bank details

  • If the donation was made through a credit card, please provide Credit Card no. (last 4 digits only).

  • If the donation was made online, please provide Donation-ID.

The refund process may take time 30 to 45 working days depending on the availability of the information from third parties such as Payment Gateway, Banks, etc. through which transaction is done.

This policy is applicable only for Non-earmarked donations. Donations to specific project/CSR donations are not refundable.

All decisions of Adopt-A-Pencil in this regard will be final and binding on the donor. The decision of the board of trustees regarding whether to approve or disapprove the refund of donation will be final and bounding on the donor.

 

Data Retention

We seek to retain Personal Information only as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required by law or regulations.

 

Other Disclosures

We may disclose information as required by law when needed to protect our rights, privacy, safety, property, donors, or users, and as and when necessary to enforce our terms of services.
